Diverse Worldly Creations

I use any means to tell a story beyond the surfaces of paper and canvas. Enjoy perusing through my three-dimensional sculpture and wearable arts projects.

Ascending Ocean

In 2021, I received a grant from Blazing Swan - an arts organisation which holds an annual weeklong event outside of Kulin, Western Australia - to construct and install a large-scale outdoor art installation consisting of seven flagpoles of the seven colours of the rainbow. These flagpoles held eight to ten hand-painted, hand-sewn koinobori (“carp flags” in Japanese) which used the naturally windy environment to delight event attendees. Due to event cancellation in 2022, this project was completed and displayed in 2023.

The Warrior Goddess of Humanity

In 2022, Margarita Leon of GypsyGoddess honoured me with a request for collaboration on one of her largest wearable arts projects to date. She asked me to paint a silk veil to adorn her headpiece, depicting the names of countries that have experienced bombings since the year 2000. She now wears this visual message of the armoured feminine decree for Peace onstage in beautiful dance performances as a prayer for Humanity.

Microsafari (Minneapolis College of Art and Design @ the Minneapolis Institute of Arts)

In October of 2014, I created a winning conceptual and budgetary proposal for an exhibition of nine installations in the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Inspired by the sense of wonder and discovery inherent to museum-going, I hid creatures made of polymer clay, metal leaf, glitter, and other delightful materials throughout the museum near to their inspired origins. This exhibition is on display from March 2015 until June 2015.

Exhumed Deities

For my months-long senior thesis in art school in 2015, I designed wearable art, illustrations, and a photographic lookbook based on the astrological charts of my friend Nick and I. See the details and full project on Behance.

Gemstone Jewelry

Working with gemstones, ribbons, and natural woven fibers, I enjoy weaving small works for the journey of it, never knowing where it leads until it finally comes full circle.
